Dt. 18:10-12

“Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you.”

 

“No sea hallado en ti quien haga pasar a su hijo o a su hija por el fuego, ni quien practique adivinación, ni agorero, ni sortílego, ni hechicero, 11ni encantador, ni adivino, ni mago, ni quien consulte a los muertos. 12Porque es abominación para con Jehová cualquiera que hace estas cosas, y por estas abominaciones Jehová tu Dios echa estas naciones de delante de ti.”

I.                   WHAT DOES THE WORD OF GOD TELLS ABOUT THIS?

¿QUE NOS DICE LA PALABRA DE DIOS SOBRE ESTO?

 

A.     The Bible prohibits the practice of: - La Biblia prohibe la practica de -

                                                               i.      Divination – adivinacion  (practice in knowing the future)

                                                             ii.      Sorcery  - agorero (the use of power with the assistance of evil spirits)

                                                            iii.      Interprets omens – ni sortilego (to interpret dreams through evil spirits)

                                                           iv.      Engages in withcrafts – ni hechicero (practice of magic with the help of the devil or spirits)

                                                             v.      Cast spells – encantador (those that do incantations through spirits)

                                                           vi.      Consulting the dead – consultar a los muertos (in New York many are abusing those that lost loved ones by telling them that they can talk to the dead)

                                                          vii.      It’s a abomination (disgusting or hatred)

Rebellion – 1 Sm 15:22 “For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of

the LORD, he has rejected you as king.”

Porque como pecado de adivinación es la rebelión, y como ídolos e idolatría la obstinación. Por cuanto tú desechaste la palabra de Jehová, él también te ha desechado para que no seas rey.

B.     Candles – Velas  (Certain candles that are dedicated to gods)

C.     Teas –  Ciertas clases de Te  (“TAZO or ZEN Teas”_

D.     Crystals – Cristales (New Age (you attract positive force)

E.      Tarot Cards – Cartas de la Suete

F.      Horoscope – El Horoscopo

G.     Ouija Board – La Tabla de Ouija

H.     Levitation - Levantamiento

I.        Dungeon and Dragons

 

III.             WHY AVOID THOSE THINGS”

¿PORQUE EVITAR ESTAS COSAS?

A.     God knows our future – Dios conoce el futuro

                                                               i.      Jer. 29:11-13 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

                                                            ii.      “Porque yo sé los pensamientos que tengo acerca de vosotros, dice Jehová, pensamientos de paz, y no de mal, para daros el fin que esperáis. 12Entonces me invocaréis, y vendréis y oraréis a mí, y yo os oiré; 13y me buscaréis y me hallaréis, porque me buscaréis de todo vuestro corazón.”

B.     Seek the Creador and not the creation – Buscar al Creador y no la creacion

                                                               i.      Amos 5:8 “Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:”

                                                            ii.      “buscad al que hace las Pléyades y el Orión, y vuelve las tinieblas en mañana, y hace oscurecer el día como noche; el que llama a las aguas del mar, y las derrama sobre la faz de la tierra; Jehová es su nombre;”

A.     Ask Forgiveness – Debemos pedir perdon

                                                               i.      1 Jn. 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

                                                            ii.      Si confesamos nuestros pecados, él es fiel y justo para perdonar nuestros pecados, y limpiarnos de toda maldad.

 

Conclusion:  We have to face reality! Many of our youths and children will be influence by the Harry Potter series and many other characters that we know teach contrary to the Word of God.  Let us be Biblical knowledgeable so that we can counterattack the enemy and know how to answer with power from up high!

Debemos enfrentar la realidad!  Muchos de nuestros jóvenes y niños son influenciados por la serie de Harry Potter y otros personajes que sabemos que enseñan en contra la Palabra de Dios.  Debemos conocer la Escritura para poder contraatacar al enemigo y saber como contestar con poder de lo alto!
