KNOWING THE HOLY SPIRIT

INTRO:

I.                   HE IS A PERSON

1.      When He comes

A.    Jn. 15:26 ““When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me.” “When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me.”

2.      He will testify of Jesus

A.    Jn  15:26 “….he will testify about me.” “…he will testify about me.”

3.      He only speaks the truth

A.    Jn 16:13 “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.”

4.      He can be your guide

A.    Jn. 16:13 “….he will guide you” “El os guiara”

5.      He can speak to you

A.    Acts 13:2 “While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

6.      He can prohibit you from doing something

A.    Acts 16:6 “Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia.”

II.                AS A PERSON HE HAS FEELINGS

1.      We can make Him sad

A.    Eph 4:30 “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”

2.      He can be resisted

A.    Acts 7:51 ““You stiff-necked people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are just like your fathers: You always resist the Holy Spirit!

3.      You can rebelled against Him

A.    Is. 63:10 “Yet they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. So he turned and became their enemy and he himself fought against them.”
