IDENTIFYING YOURSELF IN MIDST OF SUFFERING

2 Tim 2:12 “That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.”

INTRO:

I.            A CHRISTIAN IS SUPPOSE TO PAST THROUGH SUFFERING

A.      Jesus said it!

                                                  i.      Jn. 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

B.      We have to accept the fact that “Yes” we will have troubles

C.      We have to face the fact that “things are not going to be the way we want for them to be”

D.     We have to live life knowing that this isn’t going to finish

II.            YET NEVER BE ASHAMED

A.      Luke 9:26 “If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.”

B.      Never be ashamed of who you are

C.      Never be ashamed of what you do

III.            I KNOW IN WHOM I HAVE BELIEVE

A.      It all comes down to “Just believe”

B.      Jairus – Mark 5:36 “Just believe

C.      James 5:19 “Even the demons believe that—and shudder.”

IV.            I AM CONVINCED

A.      KNOWING THAT HE WILL COME THROUGH

B.      KNOWING THAT ONE WAY OR THE OTHER HE WILL NEVER FORSAKE YOU

C.      IT IS HAVING A BIBLICAL FAITH

                                                  i.      Heb 11:1 “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”

V.            HE IS ABLE TO GUARD WHAT I HAVE ENTRUSTED TO HIM FOR THAT DAY

A.      Your life

B.      Your family

C.      Your Church

D.     Your job

E.      OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
