HAPPY FATHER’S DAY

Gn. 5:3 “When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth.”

INTRO:

I.            A CHILD REFLECTS THE FATHER

1.      Gn. 5:3 “When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth.” “Cuando Adán llegó a la edad de ciento treinta años, tuvo un hijo a su imagen y semejanza, y lo llamó Set.”

 

II.            THE FATHER IS A PROPHET IN HIS OWN HOUSE  - HE TELLS THEM WHAT IS TO COME

1.      Gn. 49:1 “Then Jacob called for his sons and said: “Gather around so I can tell you what will happen to you in days to come.” “Jacob llamó a sus hijos y les dijo: «Reúnanse, que voy a declararles lo que les va a suceder en el futuro:”

 

III.            THE FATHER BLESSES THE CHILDREN

1.      Gn. 27:7 “‘bring me some game and prepare me some tasty food to eat, so that I may give you my blessing in the presence of the Lord before I die.’ que cace un animal y se lo traiga para hacerle un guiso como a él le gusta. También le ha prometido que antes de morirse lo va a bendecir, poniendo al Señor como testigo.”

 

IV.            THE CHILDREN BRING JOY TO THE FATHER

1.      Prov.  15:20 “A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish man despises his mother.” El hijo sabio alegra a su padre; el hijo necio menosprecia a su madre.”

 

 

 

V.            THE CHILDREN BRING PRIDE  TO THE FATHER

1.      Prov. 17:6 “Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.” “La corona del anciano son sus nietos; el orgullo de los hijos son sus padres.”

 

VI.            THE CHILDREN PAY ATTENTION TO THE WORDS

1.      Prov. 4:20 “My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words.” “Hijo mío, atiende a mis consejos; escucha atentamente lo que digo.”

 

VII.            THEY CHILDREN ACCEPT THE WORD OF THE FATHER

1.      Prov. 2:1 “My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you,” “Hijo mío, si haces tuyas mis palabras y atesoras mis mandamientos;”
