TWELVE BLESSINGS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

 

 

 

I.                   HE SETS FREE FROM SIN

A.      Romans 8:2 “because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.”

II.                HE CANCELS DEATH PENALTY

III.             HE FULFILLS RIGHTEOUSNESS

A.      Rom 8:4-5 “Romans 8:4-5 “in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit. Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires

IV.              HE INDWELLS BELIEVERS

A.     Rom 8:9-11 “Romans 8:9-11 “You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.  

V.                 HE GIVES LIFE

A.     Romans 8:10”But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness.” 

VI.              HE MORTIFIES SINFUL MEMBERS

A.     Romans 8:13 “For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live”  

VII.           HE LEADS CHILDREN OF GOD

A.      Romans 8:14 “because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.”  .

VIII.        HE  BEARS WITNESS OF SONSHIP

A.     Romans 8:16 “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children

IX.              HE HELPS INFIRMITIES

A.     Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

X.                 THE MAKES INTERCESSION FOR SAINTS
